In the
Christian walk we have given our lives to the Lord to do what Christ wants us
to do and to become what He wants us to become, to get His job accomplished. If
we are really trying to do what He wants us to do, we have in our minds what we
think He wants done. We need to look at what Jesus told the Pharisee when He
asked him what was the greatest commandment . . . "Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God
with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. And the
second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself." (Matthew
22:37, 38) If we really want to become more like Christ we need to love. The
whole life of Christ can be summed up in one word and that word is "love". He
even told his disciples before he left them to love one another and also told
them that is how the rest of the world would recognize them.
When we
come into a situation we do not have to ask what would Jesus do, for we know
what He would do is love. If someone is sick, because Jesus loves the person, Jesus would pray for them and
believe for their healing. We need to remember the word Shalom. The
meaning of Shalom is peace, nothing
missing . . . nothing broken. Because of the love of Jesus, just look for the broken or missing part in a person's life, stand
in the gap of prayer and then believe the Lord will make sure he has Shalom in
his life, nothing missing, nothing broken. Amen.
