TROY'S TROPHIES
Decisions
By Troy Culp
What should you do in certain situations? What would your pastor or mentor or someone you trust do? The fact of the matter is who do you trust? Who would you look up to when making a hard decision? Would you look to the media, the world, or public opinion? Would you look to movie stars or even perhaps people that are in authority over you, governmental officials or politicians? Would you look to the laws of our country or the court system or judges? We need to keep in mind that people and things can, at times, be easily changed or manipulated by other influences such as bribes, other people or agendas that do not have the goals in mind we need to obtain. Perhaps, if we had someone who had our best interests at heart and wanted the very best for us and our future who would want us to succeed in every area of our lives and had no hidden agendas, we could look to a person. However, the only One who has the answers to all the problems or questions of this world, our personal needs solutions or even the decisions we need to make is Jesus. He will answer all the questions and help us with the decisions we need to make whether they are personal, financial or political. We need to search our hearts and ask ourselves “Do we really want His answers and do we really want Him and His Kingdom’s will to be done in our lives?” When we made Him Lord and Master of our lives, did we really do so or did we just get some fire insurance? We have to understand He has a plan for us and our lives and if we let Him live through us it will be the best and exciting life we could ever imagine.
“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end” (Je. 29:11).
Let’s make a decision to allow His will, His Kingdom come, to be done in every area of our lives (Matt. 6:10). He is the only One who truly has our best interest at heart in every situation and His Majesty loves us.
