TROY'S TROPHIES
Being More Like Christ
By Troy Culp

In the Christian walk we have given our lives to the Lord to do what Christ wants us to do and to become what He wants us to become, to get His job accomplished.

If we are really trying to do what He wants us to do, we have in our minds what we think He wants done. We need to look at what Jesus told the Pharisee when He asked him what was the greatest commandment... "Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself" (Matthew 22:37,38).

If we really want to become more like Christ we need to love. The whole life of Christ can be summed up in one word and that word is "love". He even told his disciples before he left them to love one another and also told them that is how the rest of the world would recognize them.

When we come into a situation we do not have to ask what would Jesus do, for we know what He would do is love. If someone is sick Jesus would pray for them and believe in their healing. We just have to remember the word Shalom. The meaning of Shalom is nothing missing... nothing broken. Just look for the broken or missing part and try to fill in the gap and the Lord will also make sure you have Shalom in your life, nothing missing, nothing broken.
