A Christmas Tribute
By Grandmother Parsley
The following words were penned by my beloved Grandmother years ago. Never before have I shared them publicly. When I think of my Grandmother, I think about the times I lived with her and Granddaddy and how their lives were loving Christian models for me as a growing child. In the early mornings before my Grandfather would go out to the fields and plow, he would stand at the kitchen stove and cook me pancakes and then serve them to me with Karo syrup and homemade butter. I’ve been told Grandmother was even in the hospital room when I was born and I can attest to the fact she later took me to church services every time the doors were open. She taught me how to be a lady and would help me get dressed up so we could go to town and she could show me off to the "folks". I remember one time when we were shopping in the small town dime store, I looked up at her and said, "Grandmother, will there be dime stores in heaven?" Of course, she smiled and my question caused some additional chuckles from some of the customers in the store. Grandmother was a precious saint of God who loved God with all her heart and impacted my life greatly for the sake of the Kingdom. It is my pleasure and honor to share her Godly heart in writing with you. Thank you, Your Majesty, for allowing me my journey in life with Grandmother.

Our Father and our God, in heaven Thy home. Welcome to Thee this Season of each year to do honor to Thy Son and our Saviour, Christ the King who was born in Bethlehem of Judea over 1900 years ago. Raised in Nazareth. Preached in Galilee. Baptized in Jordan. Tried before Pontius Pilate. Died on Calvary. Buried in Joseph’s new tomb. Arose the 3rd day. Walked and talked among men 40 days. Went out as far as Bethany. Ascended into heaven and sat down on the right hand of God where He ever reigns supreme. Let the star of Bethlehem guide us down the stream of time, as it guided the wise men in those days. Let the Spirit of the Shepherds dwell in our hearts that we seek him day by day. Bless this assembly that our love one for the other might grow more and more, that none will be saddened what others say and do, but be made ever strong in the Lord and the power of His might. Bless this assembly and bless our homes and families and keep us through the coming year. Forgive our sins, in Jesus name we pray.
