What is intimacy?

Webster's defines "intimacy" as 1) the state of being intimate: familiarity; 2) something of a personal or private nature; a) the quality or state of being familiar; b)a state of close relationship; intimacy; 3) close acquaintance with something

1. What are some ways we can have intimacy (familiarity) with Holy Spirit?

I believe one way we can develop intimacy (familiarity) with God is through Praise - As we praise God, God inhabits the praises of His people.

Psalm 22:3 (KJV)
But thou art holy, O thou that inhabits the praises of Israel.?

1) to occupy as a place of settled residence or habitat; live 2) to be present in or occupy in any manner or form: to have residence in a place: dwell.

Exodus 25:8 (ASV)
And let them make me a sanctuary, that I may dwell among them.

Jeremiah 32:38 (ASV)
and they shall be my people, and I will be their God:?

 2.  What is another way we can find intimacy (familiarity) with God?

I believe we can develop intimacy (familiarity) with God through Prayer - talking to God. Amen.

I am thinking of my paternal Grandmother, May, who loved the song "In The Garden" by Charles A. Miles, 1913 - John 2015. I would like to sing it to you as a tribute to her? for all the love and prayers she "seeded" into me. In my heart I know I am a minister today because of the Christian influence impacted upon my life through her, my maternal Grandmother, Jennie, and my Mother, Sadie. To God be the glory for Christian women of faith and fervent prayers who do not give up on us. Amen.

In The Garden

1. I come to the garden alone,While the dew is still on the roses,
And the voice I hear falling on my ear
   The Son of God discloses.

 Refrain:

And He walks with me, and He talks with me,
And He tells me I am His own; And the joy we share as we tarry there,
    None other has ever known.

2. He speaks, and the sound of His voice
Is so sweet the birds hush their singing.
And the melody that He gave to me
    Within my heart is ringing.

3. I'd stay in the garden with Him,hrough the night around me be falling,
    But He bids me go;
    through the voice of woe
His voice to me is calling.

I truly believe my Grandmother is fellowshipping, praying and sharing her most intimate desires and feelings with Jesus as she walks in The Garden with Him in Jesus name. Amen.

"To me, prayer is a two-way conversation - God communicating with us and us not only praising Him but being intimate (so very close with Him), inviting Him into every chamber of our hearts, our innermost being, honestly laying our hearts totally bare before Him no matter what we are feeling. Prayer to me is loving Him and getting to know Him intimately as there are so many facets of His personality I find they are endless and there is no way I could ever exhaust them all. Prayer to me is "letting Him in" intimately, all the way "in to me" - intimately"  withholding nothing from Him . . . becoming so familiar, "personal", becoming "oh so private" with Him developing that "close - into me" relationship with Him.

Psalm 55:17 (KJV)
Evening, and morning, and at noon, will I pray, and cry aloud: and he shall hear my voice.

Psalm 42:1 (NABS)
As the deer pants for the water brooks, so my soul pants for You, O God.

Proverbs 8:17 (Darby)
I love those that love me; and they that seek me early shall find me.

Matthew 6:32-33 (NKJV)©Him in our journey with Him, the more intimacy we share.

Proverbs 3:5-7 (NKJV)
Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding;
In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct your paths.
Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord and depart from evil.

Psalm 73:28 (KJV)
But it is good for me to draw near to God; I have put my trust in the Lord God, that I may declare all thy works.

Psalm 62:8 (KJV)
Trust in him at all times; ye people, pour out your heart before him: God is a refuge for us. Selah.

4. What is another way we can develop intimacy (familiarity) with God?

I believe another way we can develop Intimacy (familiarity) with God is by Spending Time In The Word - spending time with Jesus!

John 1:1-14 (NKJV)
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
He was in the beginning with God.
All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made.

John 1:1 (NKJV)
And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.

Proverbs 6:22 (KJV)
When thou goest, it shall lead thee; when thou sleepest, it shall keep thee; and when thou awakest, it shall talk with thee.

Psalm 119:105 (ASV)
Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and light unto my path.

Psalm 119:89 (NKJV)
Forever, O Lord, Your word is settled in heaven.

Deuteronomy 11:18 (KJV)
Therefore shall ye lay up these my words in your heart and in your soul, and bind them for a sign upon your hand, that they may be as frontlets between your eyes.

Keep your eyes on Jesus and off of this world and all its distractions. Amen.

5. What is another way we can develop intimacy (familiarity) with God?

I believe we can develop intimacy with God through our Relationship With Holy Spirit - the 3rd part of the Godhead - We have The Father, The Son and Holy Spirit - the 3rd part of the Godhead.

Romans 8:26-28 (NKJV)
Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.
Now He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God.
And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.

Zechariah 4:6 (KJV)
Then he answered and spake unto me, saying, This is the word of the Lord unto Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the Lord of hosts.

John 14:26 (KJV)
But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

6. What is another way we can develop intimacy (familiarity) with God?

I believe we can develop intimacy (familiarity) with God through our Fellowship (betting to know one another, loving) with one another.

John 13:34 (NKJV)
A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another.

John 13:35 (NKJV)
By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another."

John 15:12 (NKJV)
This is My commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you.

Psalm 133:1 (ASV)
Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity?hank You Lord for the "intimate" time You have given us with You and with one another today! Bless You Lord and bless each lady that attended according to Deuternomy 1:11 in Jesus name. Amen.

His Majesty loves you and desires to be intimate with you!

Love, blessings, intimacy, unity, shalom,
