Goodness

by Sharyn Culp
                        "Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life;
and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever." (Psalm 23:6)

Precious Ones, we are overjoyed with gratitude to share our hearts with you once again. For us to be given the opportunity to impart the Word of God to you in humility is such a wonderful gift from the heart of His Majesty. Isn't He so wonderful and good all the time!!! Speaking of how good His Majesty is brings to my heart what we would like to share with you through this writing. We want to talk about the "goodness" of our God. Amen.

Strong's defines "goodness" as good, better, well, best, merry, fair, prosperity, precious, fine, wealth, beautiful, fairer, favor, and glad. That is surely a whole bushel basket full of samples of the goodness of our God. Just find yourself in these English definitive words . . . think about the last time the Lord was good to you. For example: were you wealthier, were you beautiful, were you favored, were you prosperous, were you merry or glad ? It really makes us think about the goodness of God when we focus on these words and associate them with the last time God was good to us, doesn't it? Why don't you spend some time meditating on the last time God was good to you, the goodness of God being bestowed upon your life, and relish how it makes you feel? As you go about your day, keep the thoughts in your heart and mind and let the Lord inebriate you with His love and His goodness.

Precious Ones, we would like to tell you something important. Because the Holy Spirit lives in you, you have "goodness in you". That's right, goodness is a fruit of the Spirit. Because "goodness" lives in you, every time a situation arises in your life that tempts you to be "not so good", you can choose to act (respond) in "goodness" because of "who" you are. You can choose to allow the God-goodness" in you to rise up and "live big" in you. We didn't say it is always easy to make this choice but we believe as King King's we can and should make the "goodness" choice even in the worst of circumstances. Remember, faith works by love, and responding in "goodness" instead of getting in the flesh, is allowing your faith to be activated and work for you. Again, we are not saying this is easy but we are saying it is the right thing "in God" to do, instead of allowing the works of the flesh to take us over in a difficult time. Amen.

"But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith." (Galatians 5:22)

"This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary the one to the other; so that ye cannot do the things that ye would. But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law.

Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,
Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,
Envyings, murderers, drunkenness, revillings, and such like; of the which I tell you before as I have also told you in time past, that they which do these things shall not inherit the kingdom of God." (Galatians 5:16-21)

"For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision; but faith which worketh by love." (Galatians 5:6)

Perhaps you are going through a tough trial right now and facing a "giant" in your life. Please allow us to encourage you to pray and believe as David did in Psalm 27:13. David moved in faith. He believed He would experience the "goodness" of the Lord "in the land of the living". Believing in the "goodness" of God prevented him from fainting, (quitting). Amen.

"Teach me thy way, O Lord, and lead me in a pain path, because of mine enemies.
Deliver me not over unto the will of mine enemies; for false witnesses are risen up against me, and such as breathe out cruelty.
I had fainted, unless I had believed to see the goodness of the Lord the land of the living.
Wait on the Lord; be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the Lord. (Psalm 27:11-14)

As we enter into his special season of Thanksgiving, let's make two decisions. First, let's purpose in our hearts to respond in the goodness of God, walking in love, no matter how difficult our situation is and second, let's purpose in our hearts to believe in the "goodness" of the Lord, activating our faith and moving in faith, not fainting, (quitting). As we do we believe in our hearts the better, prosperity, beautiful, favor, best, wealth and glad will be poured out upon you from the heart of His Majesty! (Psalm 126:2)

May you and yours have a bountifully blessed Thanksgiving is our prayer.

We love you, appreciate you, and are praying for you, your families, your churches/ministries and your prayer petitions. We are "thankfully" here for you and thank you for being "there for us". Amen.

His Majesty will do a new thing in 2013! His Majesty loves you! See you in the Spirit . . .
Love, answered prayers, faith, love, goodness,
breakthroughs, victories, shalom,
