What would you say if I told you that you could be free from fear in your life? Doesn't that sound exciting! Well you can be. You can be fear free if you believe the Word of God and put it into practice in the areas of your life where you are experiencing fear.
Webster's describes fear as a painful emotion excited by apprehension of impending danger. Would you say it is safe to say fear is a darkness in your life, a negative force that takes away from your life instead of adding something good to it? Let's be honest, we all know what it is like to be filled with fear, apprehensiveness, timidity and/or dread at some time or other in our lives. It is not a comfortable feeling and has a definite impact on our mind and body as well as our emotions.
Let's look at how the Word of God defines fear.
"For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind." (I Timothy 1:7)
If you look at this verse carefully, the Word teaches us that fear is a spirit.
I have good news for you. We, as children of the living God, have been given authority of demonic spirits (the spirit of fear).
"Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy; and nothing shall by any means hurt you." (Luke 10:19)
"For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places." (Ephesians 6:12)
Child of God, you have a choice, you do not have to allow the spirit of fear to run rampant in your life.
When Jesus died on Calvary he broke the chains of bondage that would seek to hold you captive. One of those chains He broke was the spirit of fear.
"And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing overthem in it." (Colossians 2:15)
Jesus spoiled the spirit of fear on Calvary's cross for you and for me. Oh what good news! We are free from fear having dominion over us!
You may be asking, "How do I obtain victory over the spirit of fear in my life?" I am so glad you asked.
Jesus said in Matthew 18:18 "Verily I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven."
Child of God, you have been given authority to bind the spirit of fear from your life and command it to leave your presence. You must understand Jesus loves you with a perfect love and wants you free from fear. Fear has torment.
"There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear; because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love." (I John 4:18)
Let me encourage you to take authority over the spirit of fear with these words every time the spirit of fear attempts to oppress you.
"Satan, it is written, God has not given me the spirit of fear but of power and of love and of a sound mind. In the mighty name of Jesus I take authority over you, I bind you spirit of fear from my life, I rebuke you and I command you to leave my presence now and forever. Don't you ever come back to torment me again spirit of fear. I am free from you, spirit of fear, Jesus has already paid the price for me to be free on Calvary and I will not allow you to dominate my life ever again. I claim total victory over you spirit of fear forever in Jesus' name. Amen."
Now start praising God and thanking Him you are free from the spirit of fear in Jesus' name.
"Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ." (Ephesians 1:3)
I want you to understand, Child of God, you are seated in the heavenly places in Christ and He certainly is not sitting at the right hand of God the Father trembling in fear over anything and neither should you be ever again.
"And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to usward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power, Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places, Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come. And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church. Which is this body, the fullness of him that filleth all in all." (Ephesians 1:19-23) Child of God, the spirit of fear is under the feet of Jesus and so is it also under your feet.
Praise God for your victory over fear! We are rejoicing with you!
